RH2 The Journey Green windows in Season 5

Hold, release, pick a jumpshot, then take open looks instead of spam logos.

Shooting Guide

Shooting in RH2 The Journey is a hold-and-release skill with a green window, not a tap-to-win button. Season 5 still uses timing plus badges. Quick Draw, Range Extender, and Fearless Shooter are the names you will see on almost every guard card that actually spaces the floor. Post scorers add Deep Fades. The lean body frame shows up in Season 5 point-guard videos as a small green-window bump, about two percent in those clips. None of that replaces Plaza reps. BAX Studio still labels the game BETA; the jumper is live, the window is real, and Park will contest you the moment you leave the hub.

This page is only the shot. Controls tells you which button you hold. Dribbling tells you how to create the one step of space that makes the window honest. Park and Rec tells you when to take the shot instead of another isolation. New accounts should finish Getting Started first so the jumpshot sits on a build that can actually shoot.

Meter on, meter off, and the green you actually want

Hold the shoot input and release on the meter sweet spot. Green is the goal. Everything else is a miss, a late, or a luck make you should not trust. Meter on is the beginner default because you can see the window. Meter off is a later habit: you time shoulders and arms against the animation instead of a bar. Do not flip meter off to look like a montage. Flip it off after you can green catch-and-shoot mids in Plaza with the meter still visible.

Ping and pain sit on the HUD. High ping shrinks the window. Pain means the animation is late and the green is thinner. That is why spam dies. A second contest, a bump, or a fading logo on 140 ping is not a badge problem. Take the open shot. If the closeout is already in your jersey, pump fake or pass. Rec shot clocks exist so you stop hunting a hero three with four seconds and a hand in your face.

Plaza is the only honest classroom. MyCourt is the quiet version. Arcade’s wheel will not time your shoulders. Stand on the elbow, hold, release, watch the feedback, move back a step. Then do catch-and-shoot from the corner. Then do a one-dribble pull-up. That sequence matches how Park actually gives you the ball.

Jumpshot IDs the community still runs

Season 3 jumpshot recommendations are still the ones people cite while Season 5 is live: JS 14 for PG, JS 13 for SG, JS 15 for SF and PF. Centers who space can borrow 15; centers who never leave the dunker spot should not waste a custom jumper they will not use. IDs are starting points, not laws. Your height, wingspan, and body frame change the animation enough that a JS 14 on a lean 6’2 is not the same shot as JS 14 on a Powerhouse 6’5.

Test in Plaza for twenty makes, not two. If the release feels late on your ping, try a faster base before you dump attributes into Shooting you already maxed. Lean’s small window bump is a reason some Season 5 point guards accept a skinnier frame. Anchor and Powerhouse will not give you that bump; they give you paint occupancy. Pick the frame that matches the builds list you copied, then time the shot you have.

Do not rebuild every time a clip drops a new ID. The Season 5 update is the patch notes; YouTube is advertising. If a jumper greened for a week of Plaza and a night of Park, keep it.

Badges that actually move the window

Quick Draw shortens the animation so closeouts arrive late. Range Extender is the difference between an honest corner three and a brick from a step beyond the line. Fearless Shooter is for the remaining contest you cannot avoid, not a license to fade into two defenders. Deep Fades belong on post scorers who already live on the block, not on a 6’2 who wants swag.

Stack those names against the badge tier list so you are not buying every shooting badge at bronze. Physicals still matter: stamina from a gassed sprint will miss the same jumper you greened on a standstill. Takeover and Team Boost can enlarge a window for a possession. They are not a jumper. Journey Pass rewards that add badge progression are a bonus for people who already train; they will not green a random Rec fade.

Post game is a different release. If you built a back-to-the-basket big, practice the fade and the drop-step finish in MyCourt instead of standing on the logo. The bigs page is the role; this page is still the button.

Open shots beat highlight hunts

Park spacing is a shooting skill. A corner three with no closeout is a higher-percentage green than a stepback on the hash with a hand in your face. Guards who never pass from the dribbling bag force late clocks. Bigs who drift to the logo for a JS 15 they greened twice in Plaza are the reason Rec bigs get yelled at. Stand where your build shoots. Catch. Hold. Release. That is the whole midrange diet.

If you brick three in a row, stop moving the camera, stop adding dribbles, and take the next catch-and-shoot. The window did not vanish; your timing did. Plaza after a bad Park night is cheaper than a Reset Token. When the shot is stable, go read Park and Rec so you know which looks your teammates actually want.

The Guides Hub will keep linking this page because almost every loss that looks like a badge problem is a timing problem. Green in Plaza on your real ping, take open shots in Park, and leave the logo for the clip account. Season 5 did not patch patience.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for codes, builds, shooting, and Park play.

How does shooting work in RH2 The Journey?

Hold the shoot input and release on the meter sweet spot. Green is the make you want. Practice in Plaza before you hunt logos in Park.

Which jumpshots do people use in Season 5?

Community Season 3 IDs are still cited: JS 14 for PG, JS 13 for SG, JS 15 for SF and PF. Test them in Plaza on your height and body frame.

Meter on or meter off?

Meter on until catch-and-shoot mids are automatic. Meter off is timing shoulders and arms after that, not a night-one flex.

Which shooting badges matter first?

Quick Draw, Range Extender, and Fearless Shooter for guards who space. Deep Fades for post scorers. Check the badge list before you bronze everything.

Why do I brick open shots on Park but green in Plaza?

Ping, pain, stamina, and contests all shrink the window. Read Controls for HUD ping, then take closer, more open looks in Park and Rec.

Does the lean frame really help shooting?

Season 5 point-guard videos mention about a two percent green-window bump on lean. It is a nudge, not a reason to ignore timing or Getting Started templates.
