RH2 The Journey Best Season 5 builds by position
Community attribute targets, badge mixes, and frames for PG through center.
Season 5 rebuilt the RH2 The Journey creator. You still pick a position, but the menu now starts with appearance — skin, face, hair, voice — then asks recommended versus custom. Custom is the real path. Attribute buckets are Finishing, Shooting, Playmaking, Defense, and Physicals; official Season 5 videos also talk about rebounding as its own spend. After the bars, you set wingspan, weight, height, body type, upbringing, and frame. The name pool jumped from about 250 archetypes to more than 1300 labels. Treat the name as flavor. Treat the numbers as the build.
Everything on this page is a community target, not a BAX patch note. Tester videos disagree by a few points, and a hotfix can move a badge threshold. Copy the shape, then tune in the attribute planner. For letter grades, go back to the tier list hub. For HOF versus gold, use the badge ranks. For Lone Ranger, Matador, and Run as One, use the takeover ranks. New accounts should still finish getting started before they chase 99 OVR.
Guard templates (PG and SG)
Playmaking Shot Creator (PG) is the Season 5 on-ball default. One widely shared tester template (the every-position Season 5 video) aims near:
- 3PT 82, mid-range 88, driving layup 80, close shot 85
- pass accuracy 95, ball handle 90, speed with ball 87
- interior D 45, perimeter D 60, steal 70
- speed 85, acceleration 91, strength 40, stamina 86
- badge mix stated in that video: shooting 26 / finishing 10 / playmaking 40 / defense 6
Height in older templates is often 6’5” at 170. Re-test wingspan in the new creator; a longer wing contests better and can cost you handle or speed with ball. Takeovers that show up on similar PGs: Lone Ranger plus Run as One. Some players pick the Anchor frame and accept the drawback on block attempts.
A second Season 5 PG from an earlier overview clip is more steal-and-handle, less passer:
- driving layup 77, close shot 70, 3PT 80, mid 82
- steal ball 85, ball handle 92, pass accuracy 70
- interior 40, perimeter 70, steal 77
- speed 85, acceleration 88, strength 30, vertical 74, stamina 90
Use the first template if you actually pass in Rec. Use the second if you live in Park 3s and want the ball ripped on the catch. Details for both sit on the guards page.
2-Way Sharpshooter (SG) is the off-ball S-tier. An older kade-style template still maps cleanly if you remember the free-throw glitch is patched in Season 5:
- 6’7”, 185 pounds
- driving dunk and driving layup around 80, shooting attributes maxed
- pass accuracy 60, speed with ball 70
- interior 40, perimeter 90, steal 76, block 70
- speed and acceleration maxed, strength 60, vertical 73, stamina 85
- badges: silver Contact, Giant Slayer, Relentless, Consistent Finisher; HOF Range Extender plus HOF Quick Draw
That SG does not need 95 pass accuracy. It needs to green when left and not fold on a closeout dunk. Time it with the shooting guide before you spend a Reset Token because the pie “looks right.”
Wing and big templates (SF, PF, C)
SF Slashing Shooter / ISO SF is the hybrid. Strength plus athleticism, enough handle to cook a slow four, enough three to keep help honest. It is the build people mean when they say they want one body for Park and Rec. Do not skip dribbling — ISO is a timing skill, not a pie-chart skill. Role notes live on the bigs page because the SF sits between guard and paint.
PF 2-Way 3-Level Scorer is the stretch four who can still bump a cutter. Park 3s versions need a real catch-and-shoot three. Rec versions can hide a slightly lower three if your PG is a Playmaking Shot Creator who actually finds you. Put enough steal and perimeter to survive switches; a PF who only lives in the paint becomes the B-tier no-shoot big we already warned about on the tier list hub.
C Paint Beast is interior finishing, rebound, and rim protection. Rec 5s should make this before they make a third guard. Park 3s should make this only if both teammates shoot. Deep Fades is the post badge that turns a dump-off into a mid fade instead of a panic hop. Physicals matter more here than flashy names: strength, stamina, vertical, and a frame that can bump without eating every block animation. Anchor is a common frame with a stated drawback on block attempts — read the tooltip before you lock it.
99 OVR community clips (including a Juicy John mention of 6’6” 180) chase a two-way 3-level scoring PG with HOF Quick Draw and gold Range Extender. That is a late-account target, not a day-one spend. Attribute caps move with overall. If you are still unlocking the creator budget, copy the 80s shooting / 90s handle shape and grow into 99 instead of burning a Reset Token every session.
Recommended versus custom: recommended is a tutorial. Custom is how you actually hit HOF Quick Draw without dumping steal. If the name reads “Playmaking Shot Creator” or “2-Way Sharpshooter” you are close; if it reads like a poem with 40 finishing and 4 shooting, you built a Rec statue for Park. After you lock attributes, take the jumper to Plaza, then queue Park and Rec with a takeover that matches the role. Season 5 is live. The BETA stamp means you will retune. Keep one Reset Token in the bank for the hotfix that nicks your jumper, not for a third cosmetic haircut.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for codes, builds, shooting, and Park play.
Are these official Season 5 cap numbers?
No. They are community targets from tester and creator videos. Confirm thresholds in-game and against the Season 5 notes after hotfixes.
Should I pick recommended or custom?
Custom. Recommended teaches the menus. Custom is how you reach HOF Quick Draw, Range Extender, and a steal floor on the same body. Use the attribute planner to sanity-check the pie.
What height should a first PG be?
Community PGs cluster around 6'5" to 6'6". 6'7" SGs trade some speed for contest. See guard builds before you lock wingspan.
Is a no-shoot Paint Beast ever correct?
In Rec 5s, yes, if your four teammates space. In Park 3s, almost never. Rank context is on the tier list hub.
When do I spend a Reset Token?
After a patch that moves shooting, steal, or frames — or after you realize you built recommended instead of custom. Do not spend it on hair.
Where do badges and takeovers fit after attributes?
Attributes first, then badge ranks, then takeover ranks. A 95 handle with silver Unpluckable still gets stripped.
